Atelier Vierkant

Atelier Vierkant is a family art manufactory based in Belgium. The Janssen family has been making art planters for more than 25 years. Their works are a significant part of many architectural projects around the world and can be described as transgenerational. The difference between commonly available planters and those from Atelier Vierkant is enormous.
A handmade fired clay planter will serve its owner for a lifetime without color or quality changes; it can be passed on to the next generation. This is not mass production or a serial product. They are actually sculptural pieces for the house and garden. The clay used by Atelier is also unique, sourced exclusively from specific areas in Germany and carefully selected for its quality and properties. The production of Vierkant planters and garden solitaires is very demanding and each piece goes through a lengthy production process from clay coloring, hand shaping, sculpting, to drying, which takes weeks, where it is checked and possibly reshaped at regular intervals, ending with the final firing in unique kilns. No piece is like another. Each has its own story.


Color versions: according to samples:
- Sample no.1: basic colors (colored body/clay - 9 colors), color BLACK is always +10% surcharge to the base price
- Sample no.2: extra paid color coatings (mostly project/special models, available for viewing with us)

Structure/surface: standard bestselling smooth coarse structure base (listed prices on the web) + special surface treatments (see catalog) - always on order and with a surcharge to the planter price (contact us for an offer)

For outdoor use it is necessary to have a hole in the planter, our stock items have a hole from production, when ordering it is necessary to state this requirement in the order

Production times of custom planters currently range from 4-6 months depending on the type of planter.

The manufacturer reserves the right in some cases to set a minimum order quantity within an order.

Stock planters: selected models of planters in different sizes and colors are kept in stock permanently. They are available for viewing in our showroom, or contact us for a list with current availability. For these planters, minimum order value does not apply.
